Join us on a family friendly adventure paddling over the highest aqueduct in the world! This is the perfect activity for those wanting to explore the outdoors whilst learning a new skill, no experience necessary.
We keep the group size small to make sure you have maximum interaction with your Bearded Men Adventures paddle sports instructor.
You’ll spend your time learning the basics and putting them to good practice whilst you navigate yourself along the canal, we’ll also give you our best rendition of the aqueducts factual history and the local knowledge.
The Pontcysyllte Aqueduct is located in the beautiful Dee Valley, also known as ‘the gateway to North Wales’. This World Heritage site is surrounded by stunning scenery and wonderful Welsh wildlife.
Situated a short distance from the historic riverside town of Llangollen with its steam trains, castles and riverside park, this activity is the perfect addition to a day discovering the wonders of North Wales.

All equipment is frequently safety checked and maintained.
Bring suitable robust footwear appropriate for each activity, along with swimwear and a towel where applicable.
Solo Bookings
We use Canadian-style open canoes, each designed to hold 2 or 3 people. If you’re booking alone, no worries— you’ll be paired with a guide or another solo traveler for your adventure.
Bring a good camera because the scenery and views are definitely ones you’ll want to savour and show to your friends and family in the future (We have dry bags for your belongings and phones just in case you are worried).
